This Halloween menu is dedicated to lovers who like to celebrate Halloween.
For this reason we called it "Love potion"!
To be successful it is necessary a bit of participation of both partners. The most important role is in charge of the dinner organizer but the partner must do his part too!

To create the atmosphere

To have the best result it is important to lay the table creating the right atmosphere. We suggest you a simple-to-do table for a romantic Halloween party. Romantic on Halloween night? Of course ... is it or isn't it the witches' night? the night where you may do everything?

In fact you should know the creator of this dinner party is an enchantress witch that gives her guest her love potion from the appetizers to the second course until she has her guest's heart imprisoned.

The dinner party begins with the traditional "trick or treat" made with mini pizzas.
Trick or treat? At the end of the dinner party the answer will be given by the witch or her guest. We let the couple and their way of playing give the solution ...
Our tip is matching the mini pizzas with a tasty cocktail, the Italian Americano cocktail. It was created at the beginning of the nineteenth century in Italy to imitate the American way of drinking cocktails. This Americano cocktail is so tasty it can be a potion love, so it is!

Look at the menu photos. The plates are decorated in different ways. Every witch's plate is different from her guest's plate, except the appetizer plate. Every witch's plate has both the initials while the guest's plate has other words according to the step of this magic dinner.


The first course is made with witches' hats (filled ravioli) whose filling is a sausage-and-spinach mixture. The witch's plate has the lovers' initials distant one another. Her guest's plate has the words: eat me!

The second course is made with mushroom caps filled with sausage mixture. But the mushrooms can be poisonous .... may trust the victim/lover and eat all them? This explains the letters R.I.P. written on his plate.

But would you ever like breaking free of such chains? Of course, if you enjoy so gorgeous cakes and recipes, it will be hard you want to break your chains!

Other tips

  •  - Halve the mini pizzas doses. You can also use a ready-to-cook pizza dough but in this case freeze the pizza dough for 10 minutes, after unrolling it, to cut better the letters.
  • - Halve the pasta doses but prepare the filling according to the recipe. You'll use the remaining filling to write the initials and other words on the plates. You have only to make it creamy.
    To make it creamy steam 100 g (3 1/2oz) pumpkin and then crush it with a fork. Add the pumpkin to the filling and stir accurately. You have a very tasty cream you'll use to write on the plates. Obviously it can be eaten. Transfer this cream into a pastry bag or syringe. Remember to put apart some tablespoons to fill the mushroom caps.
  • - To make the filled mushrooms buy white mushrooms or punny ben (bolete) with large caps (about 500 g - 1lb and 1 1/2oz). Clean them, remove their steps and gills under the caps. Cut the steps into pieces and cook together with a tablespoon olive oil, a piece chopped onion, some sprigs flat-leaf parsley and chives, 80 g (2 3/4oz) fresh sausage and salt. Cook on low heat for about 30 minutes. Just before switching off the gas add a couple spinach mixture you have put apart.
    Preheat the oven to 180C (350F). Line a baking pan with foil and brush it with olive oil.
    Fill the mushroom caps with this mixture and bake for about 30 minutes.
    Your mushroom caps are ready!
