Trick or treat mini pizzas

  • 2 tablespoons dried chives
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 125g (4.4 ounces) mozzarella cheese

Planning your next Halloween party? What about mini pizzas to accompany aperitif? But not round mini pizzas. Look at the photo. Pizzas are cut out to obtain the letters to compose "trick or treat".
Nice, aren't they? and tasty too!

Prepare pizza dough. You can make pizza dough acording to your own recipe or following our description (pizza dough with brewer's yeast). Use only 250g (8 3/4 ounces) all-purpose flour.
Let the dough rise in a warm place covered with a clean canvas.

Cut out all letters. Roll out pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. Then cut out letters helping yourself with a sharp knife. You should obtain all letters for composing "trick or treat" three or four times. If you have alphabet cookie cutter, you make this step quicker.
Knead again the scraps and cut out other mini pizzas with the shape you prefer.

Prepare mini pizzas. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
Line a baking sheet with oven paper.
Prepare tomato sauce. Pour puréed tomatoes in a little bowl and toss with olive oil and chives. Season to taste with salt and stir again.
Place mini pizzas in the baking sheet and spoon tomato sauce on their surface.

Cook mini pizzas. Bake mini pizzas for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile grate mozzarella cheese.
Take away baking sheet from oven and sprinkle mozzarella on mini pizza surface. Then bake again until cheese melts.

Arrange mini pizzas on your platter to compose "trick or treat". Serve them hot or warm or cold.

Note

  • - If you haven't enough time to prepare homemade pizza dough you could use ready-to-bake pizza dough. Remember to freeze it 10 to 15 minutes to cut it better.
